Anyone know if Eagle Point is plowed? Or what the accessibility is?

Usually isnt aside from a couple parking spots.  4 wheel recommended.

I haven’t gotten a chance to get up to Schroon this season.

Anyone been out behind the Stewart’s recently?  Hoping to get up there this weekend but I’ve heard a lot of mixed things about spotty ice this this season. I’ll be sure to bring a spud but if there anything to watch out for out that way?

Thanks!

It was open and plowed last weekend (Saturday) but I don't know if they plowed it after the Monday storm. I even drove down to the lake and picked up my sled instead of dragging it up to the top. In recent years, they have not plowed though.

Does anybody have a report for amount of snow on the ice? Trying to figure out how much time i'll need to drag out to my location. Normally wouldnt be too worries about it but im only 6 months removed from a torn Achilles and still working myself back

4-6" snow most areas. Lots of snowmobile tracks have things pretty packed down. Off the town dock was completely packed down, stay right on top.

I was just there.  It’s plowed all the way to the lake.  Spudded out about 30 yards and it was plenty thick.   But there are a couple pressure ridges.  One just north, and another that runs diagonal across and down to the south.
Not sure about those.  Also, someone was out in the middle earlier just north of the pressure ridge.  I could see their tracks and holes.

I made the trip down to Eagle Point on Sunday. I made it out about 1/3 of the way to the center. The ice thickness varied from 8 or more inches near shore to 4 inches out further. The uncovered ice was thicker and the snow covered ice was good clear ice but considerably thinner. The bite was slow for me. I fished from 30-60 fow and saw a lot of smelt but very few lakers. I landed one and had a few chasers who weren't very enthusiastic about it. I noticed that the water visibility wasn't all that great plus it was overcast so that may have had an impact on the lakers seeing the lures that I was using.

Anyone know how the snow cover is on the lake? I'm planning on heading there Tuesday and just trying to get an idea before I head up

Snow and slush has settled and frozen. Most machines staying on top. Much easier going, just really rough.

Just a heads up, some nasty looking pressure ridges have opened up in the last day on the North Basin of Schroon Lake, worst being from the Island to western shore by Grove Point. Drone pics courtesy Tom Patrick, Schroon Lake Facebook page.

Fished the east shore, south basin this past Saturday.   The edges were messy by afternoon .  Buddy broke through  couple feet from shore exiting around 430.  Although there was a lot of solid ice too shore was tough to tell w new snow .  Just an Fyi

Thinking of getting out one last time this weekend. Has anyone been out off of Fowler Ave? Wondering how the ice is holding up there

Any ice near the launch or snow on the launch itself?  Boat is still ready to go.

They never took the little dock out, and the winds have kept everything wide open. Temps in the 40's, might be nice boating!  There is ice at Keplers Bay, up by the marina.
