Title: Sunfish?
Post by: ftwwalleye on Jan 19, 2022, 05:40 AM
Howdy,
Just curious on thoughts. If a ice tournament says largest sunfish do you believe it covers all species in that family? Seems generic I know but aren't warmouth technically in the sunfish family. Jus picking hairs prob but couldn't see any details on the rules so wondered if it was gills, pumpkins and all other species.  Also I'm terrible at identifying hybrids so wondered about that too.

Yes, as are rock bass and crappie... according to Cornell (http://www2.dnr.cornell.edu/cek7/nyfish/Centrarchidae/centrarchidae.html).
