Willow cats(madtoms) and the ice.
« on: Jan 03, 2013, 03:14 PM »
Trapped about 50 of these things this fall and have read how Walleyes love them.  Don't have many 'Eyes here in RI so we'll see how they do catching pike.  I threw one on a hook this summer and a LM hit it within a minute or two.  It'll be the first year using them on the ice.  And yes I've gotten the sting a couple of times, once even drawing blood.  Hurt like a bee sting like everyone says and on the bright side I had no reaction  ;D.  Figure the gloves I wear on the ice will offer up some protection.  I'll let you know how they work in case anyone here in the NE gets them in their minnow traps.
