pike fishin champlain

waz curious if anybdy could tell me how the ice on champlain is and maybe a good area to try for some pike ?

That's a loaded ? as the lake is big and I only fish the North....

I suggest doing an (ice fishing pike) search on facebook and see what you come up with.. people might be posting some areas with fish caught but not too many here yet... Otherwise my favorite spots aren't quite froze yet. I bet Missisquoi bay might be letting some pike out by now. you can always stop by or call Martin's store in Highgate Springs they would have some intell!

I was boating in the middle section of Champlain a few days ago and caught some very nice pike, but the water is still very soft there. If the wind dies down and it gets good and cold for a good couple of weeks it'll freeze, but right now even most of the bays are open water because of the very strong winds we've had.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Shelburne Bay to freeze. Once that happens I'll practically live there when I'm not working or sleeping until hopefully a couple of other places a little south of there freeze.
