OK you should get an invite to the Google Group and once you join that you should have access.

I am just the implementer the real person behind this idea posts here under the name "montanahardwater" he is the one who thought this up and insisted on trying to make it happen even when tons of people told him it was a bad idea. He thought it was valuable and when he showed me what he wanted I agreed so I put the web stuff together to do it and I manage it because that kind of stuff is something I do daily for my regular work anyway but the idea and the initiative behind making this happen was all him, not me, I'm just the messenger so to speak.

Looks like you've done a lot of work to make this spreadsheet happen. Looks good! I was wondering how you gather all the info, and if I have news to share how is the best way to get it to you... Thanks!

The sheet is editable by all who have access to it so once you have access you just enter in any data you have. The data is shown by week so if one person goes out on Monday and finds 3" they put that in the appropriate space, then if on friday of the same week you go out and find 5" you edit the cell to show 3" - 5" so we have a high and low bound for the week. Same if you find a spot with less ice you change the lower bound for that week. I end up doing a lot of cleanup too when people put their numbers in the wrong week spot etc. but basically it works like wikipedia where the people checking the ice locally update it for the lakes they fish.

No worries. I resent your invite. If you don't see it check your spam or try this or something like it in your gmail search text field: in:spam montana-ice-conditions

That will search your spam folder for e-mails containing those words.

I'm not going to update the spreadsheet based on what I'm reading in the ice reports until I'm physically on the ice and see for myself, but it seems that this spreadsheet doesn't get updated very often. Is that normal or is somebody in particular supposed to be gathering information and updating this thing? Just curious
