I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best as far as the combo LED light /fan combos or having separate ones instead? Battery life, longevity of the product etc. ???

I use a green submersable light for lighting and a cheap coleman tent fan... Light runs on a spare vex battery, fan takes 1 D size and will use maybe 2 a year...

The small fan/light combo made by clam is a great buy for the money. If you have a DC plug in your house the large size will work well also. I like the LED lights but I don't use the fan much. I would rather have a nice LED light then a fan. The fan take much more power then the light.

I have a coleman tent fan, a little cheaper than the clam and I use it camping anyway I'll probably throw it in the shanty as well this year just to circulate the heat around it. As far as lights, we had some rope lights in my Dad's shack that worked fairly well, I might snag some more of them this year for my new Trekker.

Esox, Do you think the green light is better than a regular halogen floating crappie light? How long can you run yours on a battery at full charge? I assume you have the fluorescent green tube type light. ???

No idea how long it will run, never had it go out on us.....Think mines the 16" or 18" one....

The new large clam combo comes with a dc plug in option.
