I found a Humminbird xi 9 20 transducer for my 688ci in amazon warehouse.  Its been almost 10 months since I started searching for one.  I had to buy the whole ice kit, but since it was the warehouse the price was only $40 more than just the ducer by itself, if it was ever available.  Also, the whole kit was cheaper than buying the used xi 9 20s that are on ebay that are all used and selling for 200.  So,  long story short, keep your eye on amazon warehouse. Some amazing deals pop up on there.  But they usually dont last long.

The news lately has been running many stories about how the backlog of container ships is finally starting to be shipped out from the ports. Wouldn’t you think, because almost everything we use an ice fishing is imported, there should be a ton of stuff available at reduced prices? The news is saying that the major retailers are so overstocked that it’s almost turning into a rummage sale for a lot of them. I need a lithium battery for my flasher but those things never ever seem to go on sale.

So that Lowrance Hook2 7x caught my eyes and I wanted to know if anyone was running one of them and if they had any opinions? Also would I need to source an ice transducer for it, or what it comes with be good?

If its the 99$ one from walmart,i bought one.its a very basic fishfinder with no splitscreen,no color changes and the mapping is just a blank white screen used for tracking.the unit is designed to be super simple and not many menus as its all designed to be used in auto mode.it has a flasher,regular graph and downscan.no sd card slot either.its worth 100$ tho.its a watered down version of the more expensive models.i just needed it for depths in the river.could easily rig the ducer for icefishing.

Yep that's the one!, based upon your pictures and what not I think I'm gunna pull the trigger on it. Yeah it looks very similar to the versions we have on our boats but I couldn't find a good detail of what features were and weren't included. I was mainly just looking for something to give me depth and mark fish if they are there. Thanks for your fast reply I'll have one by next Monday. Good thing my local lakes have a solid 8" of hard water ! Bring on the FREEZE!

Yeah its worth 100$ for sure.i have not mounted on my boat yet.i didnt need another complex fishfinder and only need it for depth and to find deep holes in the river.i did buy a portable/removeable transducer mount so i can use it on my canoe and icefishing too.i figured i paid 99$ for a lowrance 3x elite with a3" screen a few years back.so a 7" screen model with a few features was worth it.my garmin striker 5 plus is way more of a unit but alot more money.

Yeah I'll probably throw something together in the ways of a transducer mount.  Anything will beat my current depth finder, a lead weight and some string to figure out where I am on the depth contour maps on my phone lol. Yeah I was looking at all the fancy vexilar and marcums but its really hard to justify that price when itll be 2-3x the total of all my ice fishing gear. And only being able to use it for 2-4 months.
