Strike Sensor devices - anyone used them?
« on: Feb 21, 2007, 06:16 PM »
Does anyone have experience with the Strike Sensor pager and transmitters?

I have been considering these as we fish at night alot and when you are in the shanty and not constantly watching the tipups the notification sure would be nice.

The concept is that a transmitter is on each tipup and a pager is on kept by the fisherman.  When a flag is tripped then a signal is sent to the pager and a beep sound is made.  To me a great concept however I really want to hear from people who have used them.

thoughts?

I just purchased them a couple of weeks ago.  I love this product.  You can consentrate on jigging and just wait for you pager to go off.  The only problem is the batteries and the velcro.  I'm going to buy re-chargables so I don't have to replace the batteries.  The velcro the give you does not stick well to your tip ups.  to fix this, I use hot glue to keep the velcro on my tip ups.  Also the velcro on the battery compartment pulls the back off of the transmitter.  I solved this by electrical taping the battery compartment cover on.
