Yesterday it was a deal of the day deal ..wasn't a bad price then ..and one 5ah battery will be all most folks need. I see now its $318 ..

the 2803-22 w/2 5ah batteries at its regular price is still cheaper ..crazy marketing

Home Depot has a Ryobi 1/2 inch hammer drill and 2 batteries (4.0 AH) for $99. The torque spec seems to be 600 in-lb, which is on the light end, but if it works at all, that is less than I paid for my battery. I would only chance it if you use a 6 inch or less bit like me. There is a 3 year warranty, so if it did not work out, I suppose you could try to return it to Home Depot.

This will not I repeat will not spin a 6-8 inch auger very long before it has the drill smoking.

My experience is you have more problems with old/cold/small batteries not giving enough current than the drill not capable of enough torque. I invested in a 9 AH battery this year, and all of my torque problems went away.
