I <may> be out sometime after noon. Got to work until then at least. I will probably go on at Walnut Grove Rd on the east side and fish out by the island. PigRoast Paul is going out too.

You'd think the ice would be thicker for this weekend with the colder nights coming in. Just have to be patient like the rest of us if you don't know the lake. Stay safe.......

Ice was very good today! 7-8 inches where I was. Very, very slippery, creepers are a MUST! Wish I had mine today, "System"! Very windy (17mph) and cold, blowing snow after 4PM. Went out at 1:30, drilled 4 holes (2 guys) and never moved for the rest of the day. Caught a bunch of perch, all jigged, my buddy kept 7 nice ones, best being 12" or so.
Saw bass, waldo's, perch, crappie, and a swarm of alewives (I presume) on the camera today. Nothing but the perch showed any interest whatsoever! The perch were VERY aggressive, though!

I used YOUR creepers to stretch around my truck tires instead of chains!  Did you mention to the forum guys about fishing over MY spot today???  FYI to all, feb 20, 23, 24 there is a special bartender in town who will be providing hot lunch and drink specials to fishermen, 11-6, plan accordingly!

Northernmadness - we've been fishing shallow, anywhere I can find green weeds near a drop off.  Been fishing the east side cause thats where my camp is.  Which end you set up on today?

Bah, The bay to the north of bakers is a huge shallow sand flat that should still have green angelhair on the bottom, I'd work there as most perch seem to be feeding on bugs.

NM, strongly recommend camera, and, answering for BigJim, those 'eyes were moving from deep water to shallow when they went thru his camera.

First- Are you implying that I have BIG feet? Or does your truck have small tires? LOL!
Second- I did not know that I was on <YOUR> spot! It did look familiar, but I didn't see your ID Tag on it! LOL! ;)
Third- Anyone who misses out on the Special Bartender at The PI on the listed days above is <REALLY> missing out!
I can assure everyone that the lunch will be tasty and the drinks will be VERY special! I won't miss it, you should not either! Whooo-Hooo! Looking forward to this for sure!

Yes they were! And they were right behind that swarm of alewives!

ya. i used a ratso today and couldnt keep the perch off it. i have access to a camp on the east side right by the island. is it worth trying on that side of the island?

I've never fished the ice there, but I know there is a great standing weedbed in 10fow that separates the mud shallows and a 20' dropoff.....sounds fishy to me

It was today! And small teardrops were the best baits today, though I did catch 'em on small Buckshots and Copper Pimples.

Anyone want to speculate on the hot perch bite because of the HUGE front moving across the state tonight?  Maybe feeding ahead of the low pressure?

I never had luck ice fishing at night for perch ..even for walleye in lakes I caught them in the day on open water. But I only been ice fishing a few times at into the night and not all night.. perhaps these perch or walleye feed in the dark under the ice but , I have no night icefishing pics yet

I have stayed out in the shanty all night on a few occasions and never caught much at all, but that was on jig lines.  I believe that, if you are going to pull the night shift, tip ups are the way to go.

Got out on the ice today on my home ice, just what the doctor ordered, and probably put 60 to 70 perch on the ice, didnt keep any as none were over 10 inches. For about 40 minutes straight it was non stop but all medium sized perch. This is just how it was last yr moxt days u cant find the jumbos, but know they are there so as theres no ice on Oneida u half to fish where theres ice, all in all it was agreat day, good seeing u today articicejigger even though u were blocks away lol
