portable shack build
« on: Jan 11, 2019, 11:16 AM »
so years ago i ran across some plans in a magazine to build a portable ice shack. i liked it a lot so i built it. i made it the same width as my snowmobile so i could pull it anywhere my snowmobile went. now it's old and decayed so i tried to find the plans again but the only thing i could find that was close was the E-Z shack build. it would have been nice to find the original plans. i think it was in a popular mechanics or popular science magazine. anyway, i built another one from memory. feel free to express opinions on what i could do to make it better.

Sooo, no one remembers seeing that magazine article with the plans? I must be old.

Try mechanics illustrated or popular mechanics archives on the net. Lots of old stuff is listed. Had several series of those hardcover books. Home handyman type from the 60’s

did some research for that magazine and found one that is rectangular in size, but not the style of the one you have pics of. here's the link to it.

https://books.google.com/books?id=reEDAAAAMBAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=popular+mechanics+1962&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwizkPyizIbgAhUs3IMKHRB3DGMQ6AEIKjAA#v=onepage&q=popular%20mechanics%201962&f=false

You will have to scroll through it until you get to the index, then there's a page to click on.

Thanks for looking, but that's not the article.
