ICE

      it's melting     :(
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I think we've lost 3 foot of snow off the snow piles in our parking lot since 10 p.m. last night. Haven't been to the ice to check out the edges, but its warming up already today.

The edges are getting soft but we have barely lost any ice if any.
There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

Kokomo Res was good except edges were going and channel was thinning quickly! Bite was still slow!

Ice is GONE in NWIndiana. With temps expected in high 40's overnite Thursday and some drizzle you can bet that any ice left will not be safe. BASS and SLOUGH are for sure gone. 3Rivers ice will be, besides I'm not walking through a foot of mud from the parking area.  Be SAFE, I went through during late ice last year and it's not worth the risk. jmo jake

All open water here in Lawrence county! :'(  this winter was cold enough but our weather wasn't consistent long enough at one time to make good ice.   I did get to go a few times so I really can't cry.
Take a kid fishing!

I talked to 2 guys that fished around the albion/kendallville area today and both said ice was still a solid 10-13" of clear ice.
