Fished Stillwater Lake (Monroe County) with a few buddies this morning... had about 5" of solid black ice with another 2-3" of honeycomb on top. Beautiful morning with calm conditions, partly sunny skies, and yemp's ranging from 17-24 degrees. In fact we joked that it was TOO nice as the fishing left much to be desired. I think "holes drilled" outnumbered "fish caught" by about 4:1. No keepers this morning either... nearly all were dink perch with some resembling "bait" as opposed to panfish.
It felt good to shake out the "newly modified" sled and gear and get our 05/06 ice season underway though... better days are coming!
**PS... I didn't post this in the reports column as Stillwater is a "fee" lake.**
