I am not seeing any ice making temperatures around here for the next 10 days.

Not looking good statewide, I'm pushing 60 & it looks like annual Christmas on Houghton is a bust. Never happened before & been taking that ride for longer than I can remember.

Weather is warmer than last year and i never got out on the ice.first time not going in over 35 years..im thinking about selling some of my ice gear hoard.

Not so much next week, but the following week looks promising.

However, I don't normally put much faith in a 2 week forecast

The big lakes around here are open. The small ones are getting busy making ice.

On Sunday, 2 days ago, my little lake was open water. Yesterday afternoon 2 guys were out ice fishing. I can't imagine there is much more than an inch of ice. I watched them until dark, in case I had to call 911. Some people must really like Bluegill.

Fished sat AM, had a flurry that last about 45 minuets ended up with a bakers doz. After that, the fish disappeared.

On the ice Fri/sat, Wamplers. Put half dozen in the freezer Friday, catch and release on Sat.
6" of good ice, not including the snow.

We got into them pretty good yesterday. 4 of us got probably 40 Gills and 25 Specks. I brought home 8. Smallest to the biggest. 6 feet of water. A foot off the bottom.

Headed out tomorrow probably for the last time around here anyways still quite a bit of ice check devil's lake about 100 ft from the launch still 8 inches

Caught over 75 crappies yesterday it was a great last day for awhile.
