The fish I caught were taking minnows on a tungsten jig in 35-36 FOW which pretty much makes everything a keeper.

Maybe there are some things that could be tried so all of those deep-water crappies would not necessarily be "keepers"?

Fished Beeds/Boardman this past weekend, the fish were very finicky.  Only a very subtle cadence with a small horizontal jig would trigger bites. Seemed about one out of every 10 fish marked would committ. Location and structure were key.  No flasher....no fish.  Minnows did not work for us, all plastic.  Took us all day but we got our fish.  Ice is 6 inches solid at Beeds.  Checked the snake out and it only had an inch, but its a start.

Just a heads up. The Trading Post will be closed from today (12/24) until about noon on Saturday (12/27) as I spend some time with my family over the Christmas holiday. I might be back as early as late on Friday... you can reach me @ (402) 376-3437 to check or make a reservation for later.   We wish you all a safe and blessed Christmas.
