Horseshoe Fish and Game Fishing Derby today in Merrimack

Hey guys,
Just wanted to give you all a good laugh. Today we had this local fishing derby in town.  I had the kids and me out on the ice at 630, they are 4 and 6 but I give them credit they toughed it out all day until 330. Fishing was HORRIBLE, it was on Green Pond, needless to say not a huge fishing destination. Prizes were for biggest Pickeral and Perch... 120 entrants, only 1 perch caught all day, and only 8 pickeral. The winning fish, 1lb 2oz HAHAHA

I froze my nuts off, but hey it was a day I could spend with the kids and they had fun riding around on the ice on the 4 wheeler. On another note, my wife came out and joined us for a few hours. She was there 15 minutes using my jigging pole, and its now on the bottom of the pond ARRRGGHH!!!!

Last year we caught alot of fish, slow day we caught one crappie picking up the traps.

my friend got an e mail asking for donations for this event but he never heard of it before and was a little sceptical.so didn't respond .i'll have to let him know it is lagit maybe next year you'll have more kids prizes.
to bad the fishing wasn't a little better sorry to hear it ..
