Title: Yearly trip
Post by: jcohen77 on Feb 22, 2024, 02:14 PM
Made my way up to Winnipesaukee for my yearly ice fishing trip. Last Friday (2/16) we dealt with some heavy wind but landed two lakers. We were able to get the tent set up and enjoy some grilling on the ice. Once we decided it was time to pack up we set some cusk lines to let soak overnight. When we went back Saturday to check them I was pleased to find my first ever cusk. We ended up getting two. Laker fishing was slow so we switched ponds and had fun catching smallies on some tipups to wrap up the weekend.

Yesterday I was able to get out on a solo trip. Went to a spot that I thought looked good on navionics and caught 8 lakers and lost a few others. It was probably the best day fishing I’ve had on the big lake. Followed it up today at the same spot with another 6 and a few missed.  Hoping to get out a few more times over the next week before it’s time to head home. Good luck out there everyone!

About 8-10 inches and skinny. Let them go   . Next ones I will try to fillet though!
