Here you can post questions and comments about the tournament. If I'm not on to answer I'm sure one of our members can.  ;)

Hi LW, thanks again for another year of the tournament.

Do kids need to have a IS profile to participate? I looked around the rules and didn't see much about that. Maybe I just missed it. Thanks.

I noticed that you need to take a picture with your face, the fish, and the background. The problem is that I fish alone most of the time and do not own a smartphone to take selfies. I do however have a digital camera. Would that work? I just don't think that I would be able to get much in the photo.

It's been done many times with good results. Check the past tourney's entries.
Since you have a camera you can use a timer instead .. if it has one. Set the camera on a bucket or whatever  and set the timer.
Either way take several and see which would meet the criteria.

Good luck !

Your camera will have a timer option. Set it to 10 seconds and get in front of it and hold your fish. Lots of guys do this. Practice before hand set the camera on something and hold a piece  of wood.. You will know where the camera needs to be and where you should be approximately.

In the rules is states: only yellow push/pull rules allowed.  Is that a Stanley tape measure, or something entirely different?  I'm hoping for a lunker this winter!

I posted pictures of the little perch I caught this afternoon on the "short" board for the tournament.  Did I get this right?  I've never participated in this tournament, and want to make sure I get it right before I possibly latch into something big.  I didn't see anything in the rules about having the 2016 Ice Shanty Tournament card in the picture with me while holding the fish, but afterwards, wondered if I need to have the card in both pictures?
The next time you think you know it all, try telling someone else's dog what to do.

Hey guys Im hittin ice later this am for some perch and bass! Hopefully get to measure something for the tournament ;D Im a new member here but I am registered for the tournament, no worries there, but a question regarding entries. Am I allowed to post an entry on more than one species, and if I upgrade one of my species, do I delete the original old posting myself so that only my new post is there and the old doesn't clutter things?

Thanks kindly!

Yes you can post more than one species. If your fish Beats 1st, 2nd, or 3rd then post in that species. If it doesn't then post it in the short area. If you have a fish that's in the top runner up and you caught a bigger one then post it but you don't have to delete the older pic.

If it's going in the short area does it need a tape measure in the picture? All other rules are followed tho.

If the fish goes into the short category it has to follow all the rules as well. The fish will be entered into the weekly draw prizes.

MudMaster, this is not just a site for NY! Just because there is no Ice where you are at does not mean there isn't Ice somewhere else.  With all due respect sir, members hail from Alaska to British Columbia, Colorado, and New York. And a lot of places in between. This website continues to have people on year round as well!
