Thanks, I did catch one pretty decent pike, probably 5 pounds or a little less. Of course the camera was about 100 yards away so I didn't get a pic :'(

Nice pics Pikeguy!  Too bad ya lost the biggun - but you'll get him next time I'll bet! ;) I've been in that same boat too many times, lol - maybe that's why we all keep going back for the next round???  ;D  I'll bet the bass was fun on the tipup though eh!

Unfortunately my buddy got to the trap before I did, but he said it fought nice! I'd really like to start getting into some bass as they're my favorite fish ;D

Ahhh... I see.  We'll good luck on some of your new bass adventures if ya start any!!!  ;D  I've never landed any bass through the ice yet in my three years on the hardwater.  Would be quite fun I would imagine.  I caught a beautiful looking 4 1/2 lb'er from a lake in MN this last summer on light-action crappie tackle and MAN - that thing fought FOREVER!  Was a riot... never have ate em though.  They good eatin?

I like them as much as or more than walleye  . Gotta come from good clean water though.  ;D I'll probably catch hell from some people on here, but I think they're very good eating.

Really eh?  I might just have to give them a shot sometime.  The lakes I fish are pretty good clear water, especially the one in MN that we go to every summer for a family trip...  I thought I always heard that bass weren't good eatin, compared to walleye, perch, and northern - but I think the next avg. bass I get I'll clean just to try it for once!  Thanks for the info on that!

Nope. Why? Are they junk?

Bass are maybe not for everybody, but I like them, especially over an open fire ;D

I don't about junk but from my own experience I've lost a couple of nice fish on them. I make my own leaders now so I can only blame one person if they fail now.

Apparently it's from an albino that's been around for a long time. Can't shoot them ::) ;)

Are you really not allowed to shoot them. It is very rare that an albino makes it past hunting season in NY.

There might be one in the foreground. In the background you can see my friends Miller Lite and my Mich Golden ;D
