Ice Conditions
« on: Dec 23, 2003, 07:56 PM »
Went to a pond today to check the ice. 3.5 inches was about the thickness in most of the places I measured. Using my poormans depth finder (tape measure) I was in 6 foot of water. I'm guessing the deepest the pond is 15 foot. I was just wondering if the ice would be thinner over the deeper water. And if ice thickness vary at all on a pond?

I wish I had some safe ice to fish on.
All I need is ice and the fish will come.

hmmm,2 acre's i realy think a pond that small will freeze rather quickley. 2acre or 200acre you still have to be carfull.
walk the hard water side.
