Thorne Bros. Rods...
« on: Dec 20, 2003, 03:23 PM »
Hey all,  was thinking of ordering one of the professional series custom rods from Thorne Bros.  They are a little pricy for ice rods but seem like quality.

I want a strong rod for fishing lakers that is rigid enough to incorporate movement on my big 1-1/2oz bucktail jigs, yet bends smoothly throughout the blank.  I think I have it narrowed down to the 36" model with the straight cork handle in graphite.  I thought about the 42" but that is getting a little long.  Not sure if maybe it would be a little whippier???

If anyone has experience with these rods I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
Trevor

best to go with what they recommend.  let then know the average size fish you will encounter.......not the hawg your looking for just the average size fish!
