If you're going to be at the get together on Deep Creek on the 28th, I'll hand deliver them. Just bring the exact amount along with you for however many you want.

8) Hey those are pretty cool... I'd like to pick one up myself. I'll be up staying with friends the week after X-mas and making road trips the weekends following (most of 'em anyways), weather and life's complications permitting. Its a long haul from the Baltimore area but it's worth it. Otherwise, I'm stuck with PA lakes like Marburg and Sheppard-Myers which hold some fish but nowhere near in the class of DCL.

There is a tournament going out of Bill's Outdoors on Sunday the 29th. With 2 tournaments in one weekend, this should draw a crowd. Tips Up!

Hey Brent,
We're not really having a tournament per se, but a get together of other iceshanty members to meet and fish together. There is no charge and we don't have any prizes, except for maybe bragging rights if someone lands a nice one. We made it for this weekend in case members wanted to stay until sunday and fish Jamie's tourney.

Thanks Bean....I posted it as an "Ice Fishing Get-Together". Lets us know the details as to where the participants will meet and I'll post that information on the "Tournaments' page on FishdeepCreek. Second thought...maybe you all would prefer to keep it quite and just have the "Ice Shanty" family envolved...either way I'll understand.
I have to work a BASS show in Richmond that weekend so I won't be there, but would enjoy meeting some of these fine folks on this board at a later date. Maybe we could do another in February?

Anyone have preferences where to meet up on the ice? I'm thinking the state park but am open for suggestions. Remember, there could be a lot of folks showing up so parking is an issue.

I was kinda thinking the State Park also. Even though I've never been there, but have heard it has decent parking. Maybe some of the members that live near the lake could make some suggestions.

The State Park is probably about the only place you could park 10 or more vehicles without trouble except for maybe Bill's Outdoor Center (and we'd better pre-arrange with Bill's if that was going to happen). Fishing at State Park has been good on past trips. Just depends on the day like anywhere else. A word to the wise for those not having fished DCL is that much of the main lake fishing is fairly deep as in 40 feet plus. Have you some chunky spoons, jigs, and jiggin raps rigged to fish that water. Coves are typically around 10-15 feet deep, but again parking for many at the coves would be challenging.

This DCL rodeo thing sounds to be getting pretty popular. Is there a rough estimate of a those who would attend (conditions being good)?

Folks,
The State Park usually is closed during the winter. At least it was last weekend. My suggestion would be to call the park and see if they would open the north end (ramp) for the Ice Shanty Get-Together. The Nature Center on the southeast side of the park is usually open and has limited parking.

Also, the scheduled ice tournament (29th) at Bill's Outdoor Center sponsored by "Your Bobbers Down" has been rescheduled to February 5th with a Kids Clinic on the 4th.

Date Change for the Deep Creek Iceshanty Get Together!!! New Date will be Saturday, February 4th, 2006.

This was done because of a change in Tourney dates(for those that want to participate) at Deep Creek. The Iceshanty Get Together is totally separate from the tourney which will be held on Sunday. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

FYI - The DCL Tournament has been pushed out again to February 19th due to open water on the main lake as of today

We've made a decision to cancel the 4th Annual Deep Creek Tourney for this year. If ice comes back we'll do something on short notice - but another delay does not make sense at this point of the season.

Be safe on the ice and keep doing the ice dance!
