(Pictures)Lake and Pond Ice
« on: Dec 02, 2011, 03:48 PM »

This is one of the pictures of the pond with ice!

This is the thickness of the ice on the pond (just over 1/2" of black ice, edges open)

The lake was covered in the bays.

This is the thickness of the ice on the lake (The bays were closed, the main lake was open, but the bays had just under 1/2" of black ice)

These pictures made me excited!! By the way, temps are looking good for this week!! Hoping to go out by next week, or week after!

What's unfortunate about it being private?

Lol. "Wheel of Fortune" Pat. Now that there is funny. I only knew that because my wife's grandparents watch that show religiously.

Well darn, I was on a different game show but had a good laugh either way. I will take, "When is the ice going to be thick enough?" for $200 Alex. lol

It was really funny in my head till I muffed the name but in my defense I did see Alex Trabek in my head when I typed it out.  ;D Just so excited that it's almost here and we seem to be dodging the snow in my area which means we'll have good ice at the end of the week and a good base layer for the entire season.  ;D so damn close I can taste it.....  @)

I must be too new to send PM's back...  I've never fished it either.  The area floods a lot and I've got a friend a mile or 2 away with a pond so when we're in the area we always go there instead. Let me know how it goes!  Might be able to send a message back by then.

You can personal message after 3 or 5 posts I think. We drove by a ton of nice looking ponds out that way most were capped except a bigger one. Maybe that's your buddies? south?

I'll have to wait till tomorrow but I'm guessing today's rain took our inch of ice off the small ponds here by the apt...
