Metal storage crates for Ice gear

I’ve fot two of the plastic, stackable, storage crates i-bolted onto the back of my snowmobile for ice gear storage. Basic 16x14x11 crate. Works great, except plasroc breaks.  Did a few searches and havent bumped into any of those in “metal” for outdoor use. Anybody know of options for what I’m lookong for, or come across something similar?

Check Army Surplus stores. They sometimes have storage lockers/trunks/boxes in various sizes.

Had the same thing happen to me, so I started looking for different options.  I ended up using the Rigid Storage crates.  You can find them on sale different times of the year for around $16. The metal crates are difficult to find.

Not sure exactly what you originally had Coach. I'll guess they were crates bought at a big box store that resemble real milk crates. I know those are made of cheaper plastic than the real deal. Worked for a few decades at a bread plant and we used trays/baskets made of the same plastic as real milk crates. Incredibly durable, even after sitting outside in a north Wisco winter.

Please don't go and "borrow" some milk crates from the back of the store. As a company our basket attrition ran into the millions of dollars. Every year... Go buy a couple

Esox:  Yes, I have just your basic cheap plastic crates right now, 13x16x10.5 (height), $5 at big box store.  Size and applicaiton are right, durability is not.  Two "milk" crates in similar size would be great!

Slayer, agreed, I think this discussion is leading me down the heavier duty "plastic" route.

A lot of the rigid products are great for the price, we use them some in my rigged and rough job with a bunch of careless knuckleheads and they hold up well. Lots of options, some that will pack together well. Just remember, make it look too nice and you make yourself a target for thieves going a little ice shopping
