Garmin Striker Plus 5cv for ice fishing???

Hi guys
new to ice fishing but not fishing in general.  May be a dumb question but is there anyone using a Garmin Striker Plus 5cv for ice fishing?  What do I need to set it up for ice fishing?  Can you use a 12v atv battery to power it? 

any help is appreciated

I use one.but i got the ice pack and run it off a amped lithium battery.its a good unit for ascope and traditional but the flasher feature is not on par with s vexilar.a regular 9ah 12v will run it just fine.
