Hey do they often inhabit the same waters? or is one of them so dominant that they can't?

I've caught both out of the same hole in the same day before, so I'd say they can inhabit the same water.

Alot of lakes managed for both. Some for just a single species.

Alot of the Broodstock locations You can catch a bunch of both in the same day... Particularly after they get stocked. That's why You'll see a bunch of larger ones get posted early each season.
