hey, i got a question for those guys who eat sunfish. are they any good eating? i've heard they are, but i dont know. id just like to get some more feedback from more than 1 person at least. just please let me know if they are good or not. thanks

One word...YES!
Sunnies and punkin seeds are fantastic to eat. I like to take the time to fillet them out with no bones, batter and fry!!! There are few fish that taste better IMHO. Even if they are not huge, they eat like potato chips when prepared this way.

really, huh? better than yellow perch battered in flour and fried? filleting is the only way id eat it. but thanks for the help. i caught a bucket full and kept em, just making sure they are good before i cut them open.

well lets hope you like them to get a pale full and not know. I have been told that the meat is sweeter then perch. I dont know I have never tried it. Fun to catch the kids love them put up a good fight for them but i could never see the point of eating them looks like very little meat on them. Well have fun cleaning a pale full and let me know what you think of them will ya. Maybe Ill try it this year. Thanks.....jim s

haha, they are still alive. but yeah, ill clean them, and let you know. i heard the meat was sweeter than perch, and the ones i caught arent too small. they are about 5-7 inches, all of them. but ill let you know, thanks for the information

10 7 inchers will feed me and the GF and leave enough for me to take to lunch the next day.. VERY TASTY, IMO ,better than perch!!!

They are very good. My bro and I used to filet and fry 'em up. Takes a good mess to make a meal, but they're tasty.

yeah, i figured so. i cut them open and didnt get too much meat, but it was good.
