Accuweather.com is calling for 12"-18" of snow from monday night to tuesday evening :o :o :o :o , this is the Wabash area, not sure how much of state will be affected. Calling for lows around 1* with wind chill -15* due to 20-25 mph winds. Not sure what it will do for the ice or fishing, but that's the least of my worries; I got to drive to Warsaw for work 3rd shift :-\ . Just a heads up to be prepared.

looks like the same thing here and Iam 10 mil. west of warsaw, evry time I bring up a new report they add more ol well they have been worng before

Thanks for heads up. Just checked the forecast for here in Central Iowa and it looks like we'll get hit a day before you guys. Friday it was 40 + degrees and everyone was talking Spring...NO!!!Haven't fished enough. ;D

Anyone want to trade snow for ice? Central Indiana is suppose to get a "wintry mix" of snow and ice. Where I am they are calling for more ice and then starting on Thursday getting cold. If I could just get my boss to call off school early then I cold make it to the lake in time to get snowed/ iced in. A 20lb propane container and enough bait for several days sounds good to me!

The news has said a possible 12-18" snow between Tuesday and Wednesday. BUT they're still not sure if it's going to hit us yet. They said one a small shift of the storm and we could get very little snow. So once again we might as well wait till Tuesday and look out the front door to see what's actually going on.

Channel 13 in Indy says 1 and a half inches of "ICE". Oh :%$#!: :%$#!:! Went without power for 13 days during the last ice storm. :%$#!: Don't want to do that again. Hope for snow over all that ice. Really makes a mess of everything.

Did not see anywhere in Dakota's report from the NWS about not being able to fish. I think we need to go to YouTube and look up how to build an igloo on the water.
I would be happy to trade some ice from central Indiana for a little of your snow up north.
Others go to the store to stock up on things. I need to pick up some propane for the Buddy Heater just in case.
Also, we only have one more day built in for snow at school then there goes another summer of not knowing when school will let out.

if we get what they say we are going to get in snow I am packing all my ice fishing s#%t up 4 the season,postin my white ass at the crib,and getting my self ready 4 dare I say it open water fishing 4 big smallmouth on the river.dont get me wrong I love to ice fish but dragging all my stuff through a foot to afoot and a half of snow in no fun

Were on are last built in Snow day here in Chesterton. They start making them up in June. If the govenor gets his way it will be July Next year, cause he wants school to start after Labor Day. I'm not looking forward to dragging stuff through the snow either.

am i the only optimist????
while fishing in the ice storm 2 years ago it was one after the other for about 5 hours till we got tired of drop down...pull up a keeper! yea the drive sucked but it was worth it!
and in blizzard conditions just put it in 4 wheel and go...slow. no one else out there to hit ;D
(and make sure wax and jigmup aren't going to the same lake..lol!)
just some happy thoughts....
wasn't it last week all you guys were wanting a good low pressure system to kick the mid ice blahs! you asked for it! ;D

hate to say it but the BIG ONE of 78 was the best fishing day of my life, got on the ice bout 5:30 am fished till 10:00 or so then it took the next 3 days to get back to the house ?

I have been holding out on taking the ATV, but it may be the only way to get out I get out on the ice if we get all that snow...man that will wear a guy out fast dragging a sled of gear in eaven 6 inches. I will do what I must...fish on! :icefish:

To put this into perspective....I want this to miss and I want the weathermen to be wrong. If we get the ice they are predicting, 10's of thousands of people will be without power for days if not weeks. The last time we had a severe ice storm 68 people in the affected area died. That was with moderate temps in the 40's after the actual storm. If we get the predicted temps with the possibility of over .8 inches of ice and 25 to 35 mph winds they are calling for, it will be ugly for aot of helpless people. Ice fishing is the least of my worries with this storm. For the northern guys....Ok you can deal with 18 inches of snow but throw the 30mph winds for 10 or 12 hours and you can see my concern. Let all of us great fisherman on this site remember our neighbors and all those who will need our help for their basic necessities during this storm. Of course if it turns out to be a dud, then game on and tight lines!

Well said Jigmup. I usually don't buy into the hype of the local weather people, but if we get half of the predicted 1.5 inches of ice, this is gonna get ugly. Especially followed up by single digit temps.

Worried about the ice and losing power here. Total electric. Had the 20# and the 5# tanks filled tonight, and bought another 20# filled just for insurance. Hope it's not as bad as they say, but we have 1/2" of ice here already. Started out as freezing rain and turned into ice crystals and it's still coming down.

Out if all the times this storm has to come it has to come the week I'm suppose to go to lake Erie. Suppose to leave Thursday hopefully the main roads will be cleared by then.

Told my brother that i would tie the sled rope around my waste and push the snow blower in front of me to get to our spot.

to pikeseeker with regards to my comment by the time you , your rope ,snow blower and your brother get to your "spot" I will have boated over 30 smallmouth!
