I had been hoping to get out two last times on two ponds in my neck of the woods (the NW corner of MA) this weekend, but I'm afraid that's simply not going to happen.
I work the usual Monday to Friday grind (8 AM to 5 PM), but I have a college age daughter that I deputized to check the ice for me today.
She reported that there was no safe ice on one of the two ponds that I had in mind for this weekend - - even if I brought along a 10 foot plank.
Since the pond in question is one of the last to "ice out" in the great State of Massachusetts, I am afraid it is official - - icefishing season is over.
Now I just need to hang in there until the open water season finally "heats up" - - which, unfortunately, is not likely to occur for another month out this way.

Yeah fish pond was totally open as of 2 days ago and I was on it 5 days ago 😳.
Hoping to hit the open water soon. Could have some great luck in the lakes that’s are fishable already with some slip floats and minnows
