Wow there a tin if people off fremont Bay, almost hut to hut over there, and not much better down the lake to the north amd south. Cold night last night but the ice is good, just be careful as the ice is really slick with little snow patches here and there

Good luck Nate!  Sure looks like a lot nicer weekend to be out compared to last weekend.  Hopefully folks are diligent crossing the pressure ridges, the one off cottonwood was gnarly last week.

The ice sure has grown out here with the Temps last week, went from about 12 inches where we were out 2 weeks ago to what I am saying is 2 feet of ice.

We see you olefish! Nice job buddy!!

How many places did they pay?

4 places.    the 1 concerning thing for me was how many poor condition trout I caught and released,  1, 23 inch rainbow only weighed, 3lbs. I caught and released 15 trout and only 3 were fat all the rest were just long tubes. Most of those fish were between 20 and 23 inches and only 2 made 3lbs.  So what should a rainbow weigh at those lengths in good shape?

Man, a rainbow was the last thing I wanted to catch in that lake a few years ago, but they were sure in great condition! Always sucks to see fish start to malnourish. I have no idea the answer

The boy broke one trout off that was a really good one, figured it would have maybe been in the top if we had got it up through the hole.had another 14 inches take a minnow off right under the ice when I was pulling up a minnow to check it after I missed a fish on the bottom.  But we did not have much action for trout where we were.

Trout did not look sick but like they just spawned with flat belly's and no girth. I only cleaned one and it did not have eggs or sperm sacks in it. I did go on line and look at charts that indicated a 23 inch fish should range from 3 to 4.5 pounds, so at 3 lbs it was at the bottom of weight class.

I have been seeing a lot of rainbows with sores on them this year.  Who knows why?

As for weight to length - a healthy 23 inch Boysen brown trout weighs right about five pounds.
