Wheres everyone located?
« on: Jan 04, 2012, 10:54 PM »
Im a former resident of the greater Cleveland area and have moved to S.E. Wisconsin.  That said I admit that altho a avid fisherman all my life I never tried ice fishing until I moved here. I love it! I still have grown children living there and would like to drive down this winter and introduce them to  the sport. My daughter has a demanding schedule and cant get enough time off to make a visit up here worthwhile.  I was hoping to possibly find out ice conditions and perhaps a suggestion on a lake or two in that area.
Tight Lines! And thank you for any advice/suggestions

Stay in Wisconsin you lucky dog!!  ;D The only ice we're likely to see is in the ice cube trays in our freezers!! LOL... It looks to be a very late ice season for us, at least down in the southern part of the state!! :%$#!:

I am a recent transplant from Michigan to Olmsted Falls.  I got out on 12/25 in Northern Michigan ice fishing, and admit that I am thinking of going kayak fishing this weekend to West Branch Reservoir, if nothing else it will give me a great way to scout the lake prior to freeze up.

I am afraid that my next time drilling a hole will be at a small tournament I hold in Southern Michigan the weekend of 1/28.  UGH!!!

Enjoy that Wisconsin ice NEWINCUDAHY.

Nice place to be located N.S.fisherman! I wanna do the airboat/hover ice fishing trip. Looks like a blast. Gotta admit that hunting walleye here is a tougher deal than good ole Erie..I miss her sometimes.

Born an raised in Copley small town just west of Crakron.  The wife and I transplanted to Eagle River Alaska about 5 years ago and I must say it is awesome.  I grew up fishing lake Erie so walleye and perch will always be in my blood.  I traded up perch and walleye for pike and lakers and bucks and birds for bulls and bears.  I think that is a pretty good trade.  We have been on the ice up here since the last week of Oct and the first week of Nov.  The ice up here usually lasts into May.  If any of you fellow Ohioans want to come to AK to ice fish drop me a pm and I can get you started.  Go Buckeye's
I was born an Alaskan I just didn't live here at the time.
