Went by Lake Moraine today and someone pulls the plug on it! I was there a week or so ago and water level was about normal and it had about 3" of ice. Now there's about 4" but the level is down close to 3' from first ice up! Gonna buy some frog spears and sight fish😉

Next weekend looks like a safe fishable weekend. Temps are supposed to drop off to nothing by Friday.

Leland has ice but there is definitely some bad ice. I was out for a while but definitely want to spud.

I’ve had some good luck catching bow on Lebanon Reservoir in summer but never ice fishing.  Any suggestions?  Shallow/deep?  Best bait?  Tip up?

Update on eatonbrook, myself and my son went out. Only went out to 12 feet of water, a good 5" of ice. My son only lasted about an hour I didn't bring my shanty just in case there wasn't safe ice. Without confirming my gues is the reservoirs near me should be fishable. The ice should really thicken up by this weekend. Be safe and I still recommend to spud.

Sometimes it's off to the right, other times it's off to the left. Usually start straight out and never find a good spot.

OK folks, Save the Date - Feb. 3rd is the Tuscarora Derby (rain date Feb 24th). When I get all the details from the organizers I will send it in to the moderators to be posted on the tourney board.

Killed the crappie last night on Cazenovia. Went through 3 dozen minnows and a tube of spikes. Slab crappie too. All over 11”.

OK folks,

The Tuscarora Derby flyer is posted on the derby page. You will notice there is a new category:

The longest "Chain of Pickerel" - the total length of your best pickerel (up to a total of 5, 15" or greater each) added together will win a prize.

So get those fish cake recipes ready!

You can register early at the Blue Canoe Restaurant (great food) on the lake or the Rod & Bobber Bait Shop (Roy will hook you up with your bait) on Jones Road just east of the lake.

See you February 3rd!

Everyone Becareful at Tuscarora. We took on so much water it raised the ice pack and edges some places are broke up pretty good.

Be safe out there
