According to this site http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7935.html the state record was 16.7.
+1 on the next state record pike coming out of the sac, and I'm going to catch it on 15lb mono

State record pike was caught in 1940. I would be very surprised if that record falls anytime soon. I haven't seen or heard of a pike within 10 pounds of that record.

if im not mistaken isnt mystic lake , where they made new campgrounds a few years back in limestone ny ? and they have a small pond that has a driving rage to hit floating golf balls in . i grew up in bradford pa a short distance away , now live in maine thats what i can recolect

I highly doubt it came from mystic lake. Its an old gravel pit pond that is maybe 4acres. Well maybe if it ate all those golf balls from the driving range there. ha Im sure it was kinzua where it came from. but you never know. nice fish any ways.

IT WAS. Theres no way it came from mystic lake. Got the details from tommys(guy who caught it) nephew. And no dont pm me about exactly where cuz Im not posting it.

It is a private lake near Limestone, NY out in Region 9, Cattaraugus County near Kinzua Reservoir where the current record is from. at least that is what I understand.

Great fish and nice job! However if there is no public access should it be a state record? It could be a Mystic lake record.
