Mostly one species for me...I usually only target Yellow Perch but will occasionally set a few tip ups for salmonids.

We mostly fish for perch.  Once in awhile we'll try tip ups for Northerns.  We have caught a couple of sunfish, blue gills, and a bull pout through the ice.  I do enjoy a Northern on a jig stick, lots of fun!

I fish for multiple species I think its boring going after the same fish each year. My fav. is walleye, pike and lakers but try to fish for something different once a month for fun.

Love to fish all species and like to fish in lots of different places. I think one of the most exciting things about ice fishing is the mystery of the hole and that first glimpse you get of the fish. So far I've brought up Northerns, Crappie, small and large mouth bass and perch. Would like to catch a walleye and lake trout this year.

I fish for everything but always set a trap or two for the holy grail of fish... THE JELLYFISH

I've kind of come full circle. Started out when I was young jigging perch and smelt, then was into tips ups for walleyes, lakers, pike in my twenties and thirties. Now that I'm older I let my 12 year old son chase the flags and I find myself enjoying jigging more. Just starting to learn the "sunnie" fishing thing which is fun, though I'm not very good at it. Guess I need a new toy  and will have to get a flasher.
Ice fishing is a social activity that may occasionally be interrupted by the catching of fish.
