If you are fishing this weekend, be aware that NorthStar didn't have any live bait last weekend and may not have any for this weekend.

stopped in last weekend for bait; all he had were short goldens. gave me the same line as last year when he didnt have ANY bait.  said it was his supplier. said he would have someone new this year, but i guess it didnt  work out ??

I am not going to second guess the owners as they have been very good to MGK and myself over the years.  That said, the bait they had has, in my opinion, been very small and of sub par quality.  That is their bait supplier.  However I am equally convinced they have water quality issues and that is why they are loosing bait.  Open up your bait bucket and the water has a foul odor.  Fortunately, we haven't had to buy any live bait this year.

many years ago they had a fuel leak from the school / gas station  maybe the filters on the system have not been changed   may be the water issue

when it has that foul odor there is too much ammonia. needs a water swap or ammonia treatment. too much ammonia destroys thier gills, i swap out 1/3rd. my water in my tank every 2 days and it doesnt become a issue.

When I spoke with Sarah Monday AM she was not optimistic but was looking for a new dealer.  I'd give them a call.

I guess I will call tomorrow and find out I would like to go north instead of south this weekend.  I had to go on family vacation to NYC and around for 6 days and need to go relax now.  Last outing I went to Houlton and it was slow.

I need to apologise on this as I dropped the ball.  No excuses other than my Feb/March has been hectic.    I'm in class this weekend then downstate,  next weekend is booked for me, then downstate again for the following weekend.  Looks like my fishing may be limited for the rest of the month.

Certainly not saying that you can't put something on.
