Walleye at night

Located a few on the vex but couldn't get them to bite.  What should i use natural colors, flourescent, or glow.  Also active jigging or slow jigging motions.

Thanks

When walleyes are in a negative state you basically have to put the bait right in front of their nose. Slow is key if you jig avoid glow jigs. A small live shiner or fathead on a tip-up will do the trick, if not try the next day.

how do you know they were walleyes?

Back when I used to catch walleyes through the ice its either been a deadsticked minnow or a rattle spoon.

Ask again during open water.

I don't know if this happens a lot when icefishing at night for Walleye.  The bigger they get, the sneakier they get. I don't know how many minnows I've lost with me watching them on the Vex with pole in hand.  They've gingerly pulled them off, even with a stinger hook.

Walleyes like chartruse but I always like dark colors.
May the LORD BLESS and keep each of you safe on the ice.
