Struggling to ice fish
« on: Feb 17, 2019, 08:38 PM »
Lately i have been bustin my ass and no dice.... Went out yesterday and met up with quack and seen some real nice fish.... Lakers and whitefish.... Neither of which i have a ton of experience and could t get em to bite.... Today hit sag river and not a nibble which is not the norm this time of year.... Pressure hasnt been way outta wack.... Am i just on a cold streak... Anyone else having this tough of a time?

Switch it up.if the walleyes are not biting, try a lake with some panfish and pike.im having no problems icing fish but its gills/specks.pike has been slow.dont get stuck in the same rut if its not working.

Sorry to hear that guys. My freezer is full of perch walleye and gills. Hopefully a burbot  by the weekend. And some lake trout

The only problem I have had this year is keeping the jigs on my line and safe ice under my feet. Keep busting off on my jigging rod with bass and pike taking my gill offerings. Pike on the tip ups are hitting frequently this year.
I'm not as good as I once was but I am good once as I ever was.

It's been a bit of different year this season, it seems to me anyway.  I got on fish the first time out then everything slowed way down and now recently has picked back up - just when I normally experience it to be really slow.

The fish out in the Bay seem to be still out deep and haven't been showing up in numbers in the shallower water, but they'll be swarming in soon so hang in there Doeslayer!
