Supposed to stay fairly cold for a few days. Fortunately, there is no ice on the lakes yet so snow is having no effect on them .

Had a nice, reassuring dusting this morning but it's gone already. 34*  At least the temps are supposed to stay low enough to keep things cooled down and not warm up anytime soon

I'm no longer in ypsi, moved up to hamburg township/ Pinckney. I have access to the big chain of lakes up here(PFAS contaminated Huron river  : >:() ... We had some snow on the ground but its all gone. I did see some small ponds with skim ice yesterday!

Got about 3 " here.  Haven't gone outside yet  but it appears to be turning to sleet now as the streets and sidewalks look icey.

As long as it stays cold and no major snowfall,  once it hits the teens,  it will tighten up in a hurry.

Maybe 2 inches on the ground. The small lakes are frozen over and I heard of one having 2 inches of ice out a 100 yards from shore

...couldn't come at a better time: no ice to kill. I was around Clare yesterday and a couple locked-up lakes had 1-2" of water on top; that water and the snow to come is insulating the ice until a slow, steady freeze starts on Tuesday (Clare and parts north). So I'm going back Friday and I'm bringing my gear. And maybe a rope. If I never post again, I was wrong.
I like to sit around on the ice doing nothing because my wife won't let me do it at home.

Well thankfully i didn't get a whole lot of the heavy rain this weekend, weather looks good with no real systems moving through till maybe next wed-fri.could be rain, could be snow, could end up nothing happens ::)

But the good news is lots of small and medium size lakes locked up last night!!! Everything I passed today in Livingston county was almost if not fully blocked up. I'm pretty dang sure I'll be on 3 inches by Sunday at at least one not so secret spot!
