Montreal lake slush
« on: Mar 20, 2019, 08:29 AM »
Wondering what’s happening on the lakes. Will sleds work on the lakes? Has the snow dropped or is it a foot or more of slush? Will it be quads on the lake after this week? Thanks

More than 1 quad has been overheated by me over the years....

Up north it's still sleds..... especially IF any portage trails are in the trip.

Rode through Nemeiben lake yesterday. There was about 30% ice showing and still 24''-26'' of it. It was -8C the night before so all was firm but it took time to hunt along the shoreline for snow even if it was granular. Not especially good conditions for the sliders. The main trails are not being used much by snowmobiles as they are slick. Very rough on north-south routes (30km/hr) because the drifts are rock hard.

If you go fishing take fan cooled sled or quad...

Not enough snow on lakes for liquids....
