Great day.
« on: Mar 08, 2019, 07:23 AM »
Tough to beat North Sask.

15 minutes drive to staging.

30 minutes to fishing spot....across 3 lakes.

Round trip 70 kms.

Trail is a little rough at times

Caught nice mixture of chunky Walleye,(20+)  Several Pike 15-20;lbs and 3 Keeper Lake Trout out of same holes/area.

That is great stuff! My dream is to have a sled to be able to get into the backcountry to do the same.  Paradise.
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!

No one here would be able to find this lake....there are no roads.

It's pretty much a fly in only lake....

I will give you a hint.

It's about 45 minutes from Deschaumbault Lake...

I think the odometer on your truck is a little screwy.... There are no lakes within 45 mins of desch with lake trout. Little bear if you're hauling ass but you sure don't need to sled through three lakes to get there
well if you were me then i'd be you and i really wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about...

It's off highway 106....35-40 km off highway 106...

There are LOTs of Lakes with Lake Trout....

Not too many where you can drink water right out of lake...catch Lakers, pike and Walleye out of same holes....

Dream lake....BUT sworn to secrecy.....don't want 500 guys up there ...

I got it...Wollaston Lake....😜Somehow I get the feeling that he’s on a fishing expedition here boys. I don’t think he’s gonna post on an open forum where it is after self admitting he’s been sworn to secrecy. Can’t say I blame him either, we all have our own honey holes that we don’t want pounded out.
If you found a gem and don’t want it smashed then keep it a secret 350. If guys get upset about it then they just need to get out there themselves and find one too. Tons of country to explore in our awesome province, just gotta get out and make it happen 👍🏼

I own a cabin on Davis Lake, 130km north of La Ronge. In the winter the only access is by snowmobile (or plane). For me the ride in is always a highlight of the trip. I drag in a big koender coffin sled with a large otter style hooked behind it, with my Polaris Voyageur 155. We haul in supplies for the summer every year around the end of March or early April. Usually try to get there before fishing season closes.
So I understand the fun you are having up there. The only crappy thing for us is we don't have walleye on our lake. It's another hour and 5 lakes further into the wilderness for us - even more fun.

Sorry I did make a mistake ...

It's 35 miles off highway forgot my Sled odometer is miles.....so a little over 70 miles round trip by snowmobiles.

So that will make more sense to the guys that know Highway 106.
