Texan's First Fish Through the Ice
« on: Feb 25, 2019, 12:07 PM »
My friend's mom was in town this week and she wanted to go ice fishing. Shes loves the outdoors and is from the Midwest, but has never had the chance to fish on frozen water. It is safe to say she had a lot of fun with her first fish!

Now that's a Texas style hookset right there.

Good fish and big fun. I liked that five step hook set. By any chance did you use Elgin Hot Links for bait?
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Thanks. Stinkyfingers, that would be a wild chance. No, I was not using sausages for bait. That is the first I've heard of that.

Being facetious, of course. Slayer has been touting the joys of weenies for Northern bait so it's not too much of a stretch to wonder if the nice lady from Texas might have hooked on

that pride of Texas barbecue, the Elgin hot link. I'd  bite one in a heartbeat, given the chance.

That looks more like a real Texas Hookset.
