Guys were fishing Eagle, both sides yesterday (Monday).  Haven't had eyes on Paradox yet, but willing to bet the is fishable ice on the east, boat launch side.

Just got back from small side of Eagle. About 4 or 5 inches of good clear ice and about another 3 of white layered ice. Seen a shanty on the west side of paradox but about half of it is still open water. Didn't make it to the campground to check the east side.

They never took the little dock out, and the winds have kept everything wide open. Temps in the 40's, might be nice boating!  There is ice at Keplers Bay, up by the marina.

Thanks Tony!

Definitely Bummed about Schroon not being ready yet. Got me thinking, can anyone remember a year when Schroon stayed open all winter?

No, never.  But I can remember getting safely out there first week of Feb.

Has any one laid eyes on paradox lake, specifically the campground side.

Thanks

Schroon froze last Monday, from north of the Narrows up to the marina. Withstood Fridays cold rain, buttoned up last night.  With night time temps near 10* expected the next 3 nights, should have fishable ice by mid week.

People have been fishing the small side of paradox, but not sure how the rain affected it.

Paradox had 10 to 12 inches of ice by the campground yesterday.  Bunch of people out there and a few four wheelers. Beautiful day but very slow and heard of a few fish being caught.

What’s Schroon looking like? Did the ice from Earlier in the week survive? Have a house just south of the narrows first weekend of Feb. Hopefully we don’t have to drive somewhere else to find safe ice.

Biggest crowd this season. 4-5" ice, edges a little sloppy, got to watch where you're going.

Headed up later today. How much snow fell from the last storm?  I am guessing 10”.

Anyone know if the open water south of the narrows has locked up yet? Was open Saturday AM. Last night seemed like a night it might have made some progress.

Thanks and any info is much appreciated.

Just got back from a ride around the lake. Did not see any open water, all black ice.  Temps today in the low twenties, tonight in the low teens,  Winds to pick pick up late Thurs night.  I think she'll hold.  Couple guys fishing south of Shaw Hill Rd, couple guys off Sandy Point, Narrows.
