Hey, I'm a local from the Mississippi Mills area and for anyone reading this I would like to plea with you to clean up after yourself this year on Clayton and Taylor lakes.
Pleading online to pick up after ourselves is not something I should have to do but every year I spend at least one entire day having to pick up garbage off the ice left by ice fishermen, one year I cleaned up and entire old trailer that someone just decided to burn on the ice. I love that Clayton lake becomes a little community of shacks every year but the lake is being abused by a corrupt few and I know the rest of us wish it would just stop. When you setup for the season please keep in mind the health of the lake, and when you leave the ice please pick up after yourself, grab your wood blocks, your buckets, bait bags, BEER CANS, etc. A clean lake is a productive one.
There's already around 2.5" out there and it looks like we are going to have another early freeze up.
