So I've got Gale's Nanook and loved the table he built to put over the second seat.  I can't believe how handy that table has been, but now I think I want a little more room to scatter stuff while fishing on the ice.  So I'm thinking of taking out the second seat and the little table and expand it to be about 20" X 38" (since that's the size shelving I have available).. Anyway my thought is to mount my monitors (Recon 5 and Ipad running vexilar FF) to the far edge of the table so they are right in line with my line of sight to the fishing hole, so I don't have to divide my attention too much.  Then the rest of the table area can hold lunch, tackle trays and stuff I'm working with to set up the next pole.  Plus I'm going to attach two rod holders in the back to hold the rods I'm working on setting up or that will go in the next rotation...  I also plan on having my static rod holder as part of this set up as well...  What else have I missed considering?  Thanks J

OK, so...not quite at the flip over mods yet...but finally assembled the new flip over today so that I can get busy with the mods over the coming weeks.  Went with the Frabill Predator Side Step insulated (4255) as I really liked the idea of having two doors on the sides, as well as the flat front but still allowing me to stand up with plenty of headroom. This thing is a beast..especially the sled base. Talk about heavy duty.... Will need help from you all coming up with an appropriate name for her...something that matches her build. Thinking maybe Helga or Gertrude...

Started with installing the hyfax runners and the tow hitch.

Then laid out all the parts for the flip over assembly. Was not as many parts as I anticipated, but still a lot to take in at first. Instructions were just a hair above useless, but the few schematics were just helpful enough.

Setting up for the first time.

Looks like the pictures so I must have put it all together correctly.

Now it's on to installing the platform similar to Matt and Sklyer. Will post pictures of that in the coming weeks.

That's a good looking tent damon, it will serve you well along with the new machine to pull it around. Looking forward to see how your deck turns out

OK...Phase 1 complete! "Frabertha" may be heavy and a bit big-boned, but she sure looks darn good.

Built the platform yesterday. Designed it so that I will/can fish from the seat on the left as the primary (usually only me).  The mounts for the seats allow them to slide out and store below. The seat mount for the secondary seat on the right also designed to remove quick and easy, and the mount will normally store in the sled underneath with the seats. Takes literally 1 min to re-install the second mount should I have a second person headed out with me.  Seats are mounted on 2 separate hinged doors that when both are open, allow for full access to the sled without any posts or supports in the way.  Also allows me to open the door on the right while sitting in the primary seat.

Cut out a slot for the electronic controls. The sled already had a triangle shaped recess molded into the front corners so they will protect the wiring perfectly. Battery will mount underneath in the sled.  Hoping to get to the LED lights today or tomorrow. Will have 3 switches (two overhead LED strips and one in the sled . Also has a volt meter and 2 USB3.0 charging ports.

Phase 2 is to finish the lighting.
Phase 3 is to build a sliding tray/drawer thing that will sit under the secondary door and accessible while sitting in the primary seat.
Phase 4 - Break her in on the ice! Won't be long...had  light dusting of snow at the house this morning.

Looking good Damon, with the way your sled is molded a slide out tray should work great under the seat

Looks nice Damon!
I thought I had thought of everything, But when I tried to take the tent down the pole locks hung up. I left 1.5 inches for the poles to clear my raised deck but didn’t figure the locks. Not a really big problem but will need to remove another 1.5 inches on each side of the front deck trap door. Hope to get some pics up soon.

OK, so Frabertha now has a complete nervous system! Got the lights all done and control panel finalized. Figured I'd share her via video so you can see how she turned out. She's a hefty gal...but oh does she look good!

Hope you like it.

Looks great damon, you put it together very nice. Im liking the independent way of getting in the access doors. Definitely something I will be exploring when I redo my top, which is going to happen for sure. Great job and thanks for the video

Nice designe , I like the way you eliminated some weight in your raised deck. Wished that I had thought of that. Well done.

That looks great Lawrance. Looks like it is going to work great for the overnight trips

I'm curious how you guys are getting enough strength in the top to sit on without blowing out the hinges. I'm thinking when I put my big caboose in those chairs I'd blow the hinges /top out.

I hope i'm half as good as my Dogs think i am ;-)
