Bait around West Des Moines

I live in Winterset and work in West Des Moines. Where is a good live bait shop? I stopped by scheels and they had minnows and waxies. Where can I find some spikes, mousies, etc? I love fishing perch with red spikes.

Used to be Johnston, not sure if they're back open after the owner's husband died or not. Closest from there is Polk City.

Unless they sold in the past 2 weeks then I'm not sure if they're under new ownership. The owners husband died about two weeks ago...

That was the previous owner Michael Olson who passed away. A father and son bought the business some months ago. I was in there yesterday, but don't know if they have spikes.

casey's bait and tackle on the east side, not sure how close that is to you, nice little place; 2243 Easton Blvd Des Moines, IA  50317

Alternative Outdoors, great people, in downtown Norwalk, next to old hardware store.

Dean doesn't carry spikes, and refuses to. He's great, but he's definitely set in his ways!
