Perch at Night
« on: Jan 24, 2005, 08:30 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with fishing for perch at night ?  I work during the day, and sometimes the weekend is a long wait ! I thought of giving it a try one night during the week after work, and I'm not even sure if the perch would be that active in the evening hours...

any thoughts ?

If the lake you are fishing them in doesn't have  predators like walleye or burbot.or pike they will be more likely to feed after dark but in lakes with large predator fish those perch will run for cover and get right down in the mud on the bottom . Hope this helps

Def. depends on the size of the lake, bigger lake, they deffinatly hit the mud twards night, but, smaller lake\pond, you probally have a small chance of catching them a sort period after dark.

I have founded, while fishing for crappies at night, the perch are drawn to
the colman light also, the key must be the light, the light draws the small
fish in[crappies love this]  so do the perch??
hope this helps
