Mora blade replacement- shims?
« on: Feb 07, 2003, 04:59 PM »
I have a replacement set of blades for my 7" Mora hand auger.  They came with 2 thin metal shims, but the original equipment didn't have shims.   Any idea what use the shims are?  The Mora and blades are very precisely made; I don't see where you'd need a shim.  The instructions don't mention them.

The shims are for shimming the angle of the blade they go between the blade and the auger to change the angle of the blade. I had to use  them after I had my blades resharpened, finally ended up buying new blades, also used them to shim a power auger blade angle in order for it to drill faster.
