Title: Sixth and Seventh lake Inlet, NY Ice Fishing Experience
Post by: Jibber82 on Jan 18, 2010, 09:42 AM
I am planning an ice fishing trip up to my camp on Sixth lake in two weeks.  Does anyone have any experience ice fishing Sixth or Seventh lake? The NYS DEC website says that Seventh lake has yellow perch, land locked salmon, rainbow, brook and lake trout. Has anyone actually caught fish on Seventh lake?  Any info on how to catch fish through the ice in this region would be really helpful. Even experiences on Fourth lake would be helpful.

Jibber: Go to the Reports/Conditions section of New York and scroll down a few pages to the "Fourth/Herkimer" thread and you'll see a whole bunch of current info on teh fulton chain.

Good luck- Mike

Ok will do.  I did a search for "seventh lake" and found some good info also.  I'm really looking for good locations on Seventh lake for lake trout and presentation tips like line and bait.

Buddy of mine caught a 26"er out of 7th open water last year.  Guess its the usual set up on the flats next to the deep holes just off bottom as in other LT lakes.  Let us know how you do.  I was thinking of bringing the family up and staying at the deer medows cabins and try to get some fishin in?

Does anyone have any more recent updates on how the fishing is on Seventh Lake?   Just started spending time there, and am interested in whether it's worth going three hours by car to ice fish there vs. staying in Vermont.
