Fishing License
« on: Feb 19, 2018, 09:09 AM »
Just a reminder, MN's  current year fishing license will expire on February 28th and new ones are required on March 1st. Licenses for next year's season did become available for purchase on February 18th, so you can stop in anytime now to get one.

You cannot legally target sauger, walleye or pike after February 25 2018, until the season opener for them May 12th 2018. You can fish for perch , panfish, bullheads  and many other fish year round, but Please go to the MN DNR fishing seasons page for the list of seasons for all the different species of fish. Border lakes will have different dates too. Lots of different rules in MN, so best to read and understand the fishing regulations booklet.

panfish is open year round in MN.  Please just throw back the big bull gills so they can protect the beds come spawn!

Check the Minnesota DNR web site . Lots of information . Take a look at the lake finder for surveys and lake depths.
Good Luck.
