I am hoping to go to Mount Hope Pond tomorrow morning. For those of you who went out in Morris or Sussex County today, were the edges staying solid through the afternoon? I assume the ice is still 6+ inches but am concerned that it may get soft near the shore. Thank you for any information that you can provide.

Thx. 8 to 9 at private lake in Sussex County today. Shoreline seemed fine when walked off at 3. People I talked said ice was more like 12 two weeks ago. Hope upcoming rain tomorrow and Tuesday won't ruin it for next weekend.

Ended up fishing Wallenpaupack this weekend- most areas I was in had about 11 inches of ice and the thinnest areas still had 8 inches. South end near Sterling.

There was a big open area on the far side (opposite of rt 46) on Sunday (2018-01-21) when I was out.  There must be a spring that feeds in there, probably close to a thousand Canada Geese all sitting.  The area I fished closer to rt 46 had a good 8"-9" of ice.
